IMTC was founded as a trading company. After a short time, the trade in computer accessories imported from the Far East became the focus of our activities. In the mid-1980s, pads were needed for the newly developed computer mice, which IMTC imported in large quantities. The quality of the imported pads left a lot to be desired, which led to a success story. From then on, company founder Horst Woydich worked flat out to produce high-quality mouse pads in Germany. During his first contacts with potential suppliers such as Freudenberg and Hornschuch, he was ridiculed for his plan, but he persevered.
1989
IMTC launched the first mouse pad made in Germany against all odds. High-quality materials from Freudenberg and Hornschuch were laminated onto EPDM with solvent-free adhesive and punched.
1992
Data Becker was IMTC’s first customer to receive mouse pads individually printed with its logo. The mousepad as an advertising medium was born. Over time, the range grew, with writing pads, glass coasters and other products being added. In-house production was set up at the Geretsried site and continuously expanded. One of the highlights were disk pockets in Poket format, individually printed in fabric or leather. Today, we can proudly say that we have the largest range of pads. When it came to materials, the company attached great importance to developing materials together with its suppliers in order to produce high-quality and durable pads. IMTC still adheres to this philosophy today.
2010
the AXOPAD® brand was created. Strict requirements for an AXOPAD® are testing for phthalates and PAHs, carried out by the GfU (Society for Environmental Chemistry). It goes without saying that the materials comply with the REACH Regulation EC No. 1907/2006. As a guarantee of quality for you and your customers, we provide each tested AXOPAD® with a tamper-proof seal of authenticity on the back, as requested by the customer.
2018
IMTC became a 100% subsidiary of Wiesendanger medien GmbH. The new Managing Director Peter Wiesendanger is sticking to the Made in Germany philosophy and driving new products forward. Sustainable pads, pads with integrated NFC technology and natural felt are all new developments since the takeover.
2021
production at the Huglfing site was expanded. A large stock of materials and a forward-looking purchasing policy have also contributed to the fact that we have always been able to deliver, even in times of crisis.
You can continue to rely on high-quality pads made in Germany in the future.
